The Indian women's cricket team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, is set to face England in their second warm-up match ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. This match will be held at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, starting at 2:30 PM IST, with the toss scheduled for 2:00 PM IST. As this is a warm-up encounter, all players will have the opportunity to bat and bowl, although only 11 batsmen can take to the crease.
In their first warm-up match, the Women in Blue secured a victory over the West Indies by 26 runs. Batting first, the reigning ODI World Cup champions posted a total of 179 runs. The opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma provided a solid start, contributing 59 runs in just 5.1 overs. Shafali scored 29 runs off 13 balls, while Mandhana added 39 runs from 23 balls. Bharti Fulmali was the standout performer with the bat, finishing with an unbeaten 56 runs off 40 deliveries. Notably, captain Harmanpreet did not bat in this match. On the bowling front, Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav effectively restricted the West Indies to 153 runs for 8 wickets, with Shafali even opening the bowling for India.
