Indian Women's Compound Archery Team Triumphs

Nagoya: The Indian women's compound archery team delivered an outstanding performance, defeating China to secure the gold medal at the Asian Games on Wednesday, achieving a remarkable world record score.

The squad, featuring Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi, and Prithika Pradeep, showcased their skills in the final, overpowering the Chinese team with a score of 238-234.

This victory allowed the Indian team to match Korea's existing world record.

The Chinese team, consisting of Wunier, Yue Wang, and Fangyao Wei, took home the silver medal.

Earlier, India had edged past South Korea with a narrow 234-233 victory to secure their place in the final at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park.

The South Korean team, made up of Park Jungyoon, Park Yerin, and Kang Yeonseo, claimed the bronze medal after defeating Chinese Taipei.

This gold medal marks another significant achievement for the Indian women's compound team at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
