Indian Contingent at MCB Ladies Classic
Port Louis [Mauritius], April 30: A formidable quartet of Indian golfers will represent the nation at the inaugural MCB Ladies Classic Mauritius, with Diksha Dagar spearheading the team alongside Tvesa Malik, Vani Kapoor, and Hitaashee Bakshi at the picturesque Legends Course.
Vani Kapoor brings valuable experience to the tournament, having recently competed in the IGPL Invitation at the Anahita Course in Mauritius. In contrast, fellow Ladies European Tour (LET) players Pranavi Urs and Avani Prashanth have chosen to sit this event out for a brief respite.
Diksha, who is determined to secure the Women’s Indian Open title this season, will kick off her tournament at 7:20 am, paired with Alessandra Fanali and Alexandra Forsterling. Hitaashee Bakshi will team up with Lianna Bailey and Gabriella Cowley for the first two rounds.
Tvesa Malik, looking to reclaim her tour card, is set to play alongside Lilly May Humphreys and Bobbi Brown. Vani Kapoor will start her round with Corrine Viden and Chloe Williams.
Attention will also be on England's Esme Hamilton, who recently celebrated her first LET victory at the Investec SA Women’s Open. Riding high on her success, Hamilton has arrived in Mauritius and aims to continue her winning streak. She currently ranks fourth in the LET Order of Merit and is keen to sustain her excellent performance.
This tournament showcases a competitive lineup of 120 players competing in a 54-hole stroke play format at the Constance Belle Mare Plage’s Legends Course, renowned for its narrow fairways and tricky greens.
Hamilton will commence her title chase at 7:40 am local time, playing alongside Agathe Laisne from France and Sweden's Kajsa Arwefjall.
