Cricket Icons React to Tragic Incident

New Delhi [India], April 23: Players from the Indian Cricket Team, including Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, have shared their condolences following the recent terror attack targeting tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.


Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian team, took to Instagram to express his sorrow, stating, "I am deeply saddened by the brutal attack in Pahalgam on innocent lives. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the families of the victims. I pray for peace and strength for all those affected and hope justice is served for this horrific act," he shared on his Instagram story.


Hardik Pandya, the Indian all-rounder, also voiced his grief on social media, saying, "I am devastated by the news from Pahalgam. My thoughts are with the victims and their families," he posted on his Instagram story.


The Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, has initiated a search operation in the Baisran area of Pahalgam to apprehend those responsible for the attack. Additionally, the Delhi Police has been directed to monitor tourist spots and other significant locations closely.


In response to the tragic events that unfolded in Pahalgam, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the families of the victims outside the Police Control Room in Srinagar. Earlier, he paid tribute to the victims by laying a wreath in a solemn ceremony in Srinagar, reflecting the collective grief felt across the Kashmir Valley and the nation.


Upon returning from Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and other officials to discuss the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.


PM Modi cut short his state visit to Saudi Arabia, where he was invited by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to address the situation following the attack.
