Tragic Plane Crash in Ahmedabad
New Delhi, June 12: The Indian cricket community is in mourning following a devastating incident involving an Air India flight that crashed shortly after departing from Ahmedabad, bound for London. The Boeing 787-8 was carrying 242 individuals, including 12 crew members, when it went down at 1:38 PM.
Expressing his sorrow, India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav took to Instagram Stories, stating: “I am shocked to learn about the tragic plane crash of Air India’s Ahmedabad-London flight. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who lost their lives. I hope for the safety of everyone in the affected area.”
Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan also shared his condolences on Instagram Stories, saying: “I am deeply saddened by the news of the plane crash in Gujarat. May the families find strength during this unimaginable time.”
Cricket icon Yuvraj Singh expressed his heartbreak on X, writing: “It’s heartbreaking to hear about the #AirIndia plane crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with the passengers, crew, and their families. May they find strength in this difficult time.”
Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh shared his anguish, stating: “I am utterly shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families who are experiencing unimaginable pain. In times like these, words seem insufficient, but I hope those affected find strength and support.”
