Series Finale Ends in a Stalemate

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 20: The India U18 Men's Hockey Team wrapped up their four-match series against Australia with a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Udhav Das Mehta (Bhai Ji) Central SAI Centre in Bhopal on Wednesday.


According to a press release from Hockey India, the U18 men's team finished the series with one victory, two draws, and one defeat.


India made a strong start, netting two goals early in the match. Karan Gautam opened the scoring with a penalty corner conversion in the 10th minute, followed by a field goal from Ben Siddharth just four minutes later.


Australia responded fiercely, leveling the score in the second quarter. Jet Johnstone scored two goals (18', 25') to equalize by halftime.


After a competitive third quarter, India regained the lead with a field goal from captain Ketan Kushwaha in the 40th minute. Despite their efforts to maintain the lead, Australia managed to equalize again late in the match when Andrew Faulds scored a field goal in the 57th minute, just three minutes before the final whistle.


Earlier, the India U18 Women's Hockey Team showcased their strength by defeating the Australia U18 Women's Team 4-1 in the final match of their series.
