In previous seasons, India has showcased vibrant arenas, lively fan zones, and a remarkable increase in digital engagement, fundamentally transforming the way chess interacts with its audience.

The GCL has revolutionized the game by introducing franchise teams, mixed-gender lineups, and fast-paced matches. More significantly, it has enhanced the overall experience, turning chess into a thrilling spectacle and a team sport that fans actively engage with. India serves as the perfect backdrop for this evolution.

With a new wave of grandmasters emerging, global titles within reach, and unprecedented fan turnout, India has established itself as a formidable force in shaping the future of chess. The nation, known for its sporting enthusiasm, is now embracing chess in an innovative manner.

Gourav Rakshit, the Commissioner of the GCL, remarked that the league has made chess more vibrant and appealing to spectators. He emphasized that India's deep-rooted passion for the game and its expanding chess ecosystem make it an ideal venue, expressing anticipation for another season featuring elite players and a worldwide audience.

“The Global Chess League has been instrumental in making chess a more dynamic and spectator-friendly sport. Given India’s enthusiasm for the game and its rapidly developing chess landscape, it is a natural choice for the league.
