Brazil, renowned for being the most successful men's national football team with five World Cup titles, will face India at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. This match is considered one of the most significant events in the history of Indian football, as it will feature the highest-ranked team India has ever played against since the FIFA World Rankings began in 1992, with Brazil currently sitting at fifth place.
In their Instagram update, the AIFF expressed excitement, stating, “The wait is over. See you at India vs Brazil.” Fans can purchase tickets for this prestigious match through the District app.
Brazil's rich footballing heritage has inspired countless players and fans globally, including a substantial following in India, which boasts one of the largest Brazilian fan bases outside of Brazil.
Additionally, the Indian senior men's national team will host Panama in another international friendly on September 26 during the FIFA Men's International Match Window, taking place at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
Ranked 44th in the world, Panama will present a formidable challenge for India, especially as they have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026, making this match even more significant.
This encounter will mark India's first friendly against a World Cup participant during a busy international schedule, occurring just a week before their clash with Brazil in Kolkata.
Following the matches against Panama and Brazil, India will face another football powerhouse, as two-time FIFA World Cup champions Uruguay are set to play against India in a friendly at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on October 6.
