India's Outstanding Performance at the Championships
Tashkent [Uzbekistan], May 14: India showcased an exceptional display at the Asian Boxing U15 Championships 2026, securing a remarkable total of 27 medals, which included 9 gold, 6 silver, and 12 bronze, thereby leading the medal tally for U-15 girls.
The U-15 girls led the charge, achieving an impressive haul of 7 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals, while the U-15 boys contributed with 2 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
In the 33kg weight class, Akshita fought valiantly but ultimately earned a silver medal after a narrow 2:3 defeat to Odina Yusupova from Uzbekistan.
Anzee (37kg) claimed gold with a commanding 5:0 victory over Nurzhanat Beknazar from Kazakhstan, while Soniya (40kg) also triumphed with a similar 5:0 win against Bominakhon from Uzbekistan.
Tanvi secured gold in the 43kg category after forcing an ABD in the first round against Han-Hsi Chen from Taiwan. Hanshika Attri (46kg) continued the momentum with an RSC victory in the second round against Sabrina Adilkhanova from Kazakhstan, and Sunaina (58kg) followed suit with a first-round RSC win over Mukaddas Zokirova from Uzbekistan.
Bhumika (61kg) added another gold to the tally with an RSC win in the second round against Aiaru Faizullayeva from Kazakhstan.
In the 64kg category, Tannvi finished with a silver medal after a 0:5 loss to Malika Ulugbekova from Uzbekistan. Angel (70kg) concluded the girls' events on a high note, securing gold with a 4:1 victory over Khonzodabegim Baratova from Uzbekistan.
The U-15 boys also contributed significantly, with Yash Kumar (33kg) winning gold after a tough 3:2 match against Sayat Rakhymberdi from Kazakhstan. Mohd Yasser (58kg) followed suit, clinching the second gold with a close 3:2 victory over Abdulloh Karimjonov from Uzbekistan.
In other finals, Sastha Vasanth Ashok Kumar (37kg) earned silver after a 0:5 defeat to Fayozbek Noraliev, while Samir Bohra (43kg) lost 1:4 to Beibarys Koishybay from Kazakhstan. Sudarsan Vasudeva Chandak (52kg) also finished with silver after a 0:5 loss to Javohir Nematjonov from Uzbekistan, and Ronak Parag Lokhande (67kg) secured silver following an RSC loss in the first round to Amanzhan Zhanay from Kazakhstan.
With a total of 27 medals, including 9 gold, India concluded a highly successful campaign, demonstrating remarkable depth and dominance across various categories at the continental level.
