Intense Practice Session Ahead of First Test
Beckenham [UK], June 10: A dynamic practice session characterized by powerful hits, a star-studded lineup, and motivational talks set the stage for India's upcoming Test match against England, commencing on June 20 at Leeds.
This Test series is poised to be a pivotal moment in Indian cricket, marking a new chapter following the retirements of legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Under the leadership of newly appointed red-ball captain Shubman Gill, the revamped Team India aims for a fresh beginning in the ICC World Test Championship cycle for 2025-27.
An engaging video shared on the Indian cricket team's Instagram showcased players like Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja actively participating in the practice.
The coaching staff, led by head coach Gautam Gambhir, was seen providing guidance to the players as they honed their skills in the nets.
During the session, Gill and Pant focused on batting drills, while Siraj and Bumrah were busy delivering balls. The team also engaged in fielding exercises directed by fielding coach T Dilip.

According to a video from ESPNCricinfo, a highlight of the practice was a fierce duel between Bumrah and captain Gill, with Bumrah showcasing his exceptional skills, leaving Gill with limited options.
Another thrilling moment was when Pant hit a colossal six off a delivery from Washington Sundar, which reportedly damaged part of the facility's roof, as shown in an ESPNCricinfo video.
The Test series is set to take place from June to August 2025, featuring matches at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
