Teqball Journey Ends Without Medals

Nagoya, Japan - On September 20, India's quest for medals in Teqball at the Asian Games concluded without success, as the mixed doubles team lost 0-2 to Vietnam in the bronze medal match.

Vietnam secured victory with scores of 12-9 and 12-6, marking the end of India's three chances for medals in this sport's inaugural appearance at the Asian Games.

In women's singles, Dsouza also faced disappointment, losing 0-2 to local favorite Yuina Sakamoto in a tightly contested match.

Sakamoto edged out Dsouza with scores of 12-11 in both games, leaving the Indian player reflecting on missed chances.

In swimming, Rishabh Das made it to the finals of the men's 100m breaststroke, finishing fifth in the heats with a time of 54.85 seconds.

China's Xi Jiayu, the Asian record holder, led the heats, while Japan's Hidekazu Takehara came in second, with Das trailing by 0.63 seconds.

Utkarsh Patil from India placed 12th in the qualification round. Das is set to compete in the final on Sunday afternoon.

In Wushu, Suraj Singh Mayanglambam finished eighth in the men's Changquan final, scoring 9.683, which eliminated him from medal contention.

Suraj had previously scored 9.730 in the last edition held in Hangzhou. Despite a strong performance, he missed out on a medal due to close decimal differences.
