India Dominates Women's 10m Air Pistol Event at ISSF World Cup 2026
India's Remarkable Performance in Munich
New Delhi [India], May 29: India achieved a remarkable one-two finish in the women's 10m air pistol competition at the ISSF World Cup 2026 held in Munich, with Suruchi Singh taking home the gold medal and Esha Singh earning silver on Friday.
Suruchi, who had previously secured three individual gold medals in the ISSF World Cup last season, demonstrated her exceptional poise under pressure, finishing first with a score of 242.1 points after an outstanding performance in the elimination rounds, according to reports from Olympics.com.
This gold medal represents Suruchi Singh's seventh accolade in the ISSF World Cup series, further enhancing her impressive portfolio that includes an individual gold from the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha last year.
With this victory, the 20-year-old has also earned a direct qualification spot for the upcoming ISSF World Cup Final, which is set to take place in Rome this December.
Esha Singh secured the silver medal with a score of 241.2 points, finishing just shy of her teammate in a tightly contested final. The reigning Asian champion continued her stellar performance in Munich, having previously won the women's 25m pistol title earlier this week with a world record score.
Choo Gaeun from South Korea claimed the bronze medal, finishing with 220.2 points.
The final also included Celine Goberville, who won silver at the London 2012 Olympics, but she finished sixth with a score of 158.6 points.
In the qualification round, Muskan was the top Indian shooter, placing sixth with a score of 579-16x while competing under Ranking Points Only (RPO). Suruchi Singh and Esha Singh qualified in eighth and ninth places, respectively, both scoring 578.
Meanwhile, Manu Bhaker finished in 20th place with a score of 575-17x, missing her second consecutive final in Munich. She is set to compete next in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
