India's Shooting Team Shines at Asian Games

In Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 21, India's shooting team continued to excel, with Rudrankksh Patil, Parth Mane, and Himanshu Dhillon earning a silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle team event during the Asian Games 2026.

The Indian team achieved a score of 1890.1, falling short of China's first-place score of 1899.0. South Korea secured the bronze medal with a score of 1841.4. This victory marks India's third silver medal in shooting at the ongoing Asian Games.

During the individual qualifying round, which also served as the team final, Rudrankksh placed third with a score of 631.8, while Himanshu finished seventh with 630.0. Parth ended in 11th place with a score of 628.3. Both Rudrankksh and Himanshu advanced to the individual finals scheduled for later.

Rudrankksh began his performance with a score of 104.2 in the first series, improving significantly in subsequent rounds, finishing with a total of 631.8 points after six series. Parth started with 104.5 and concluded with 628.3, while Himanshu, who had a challenging start, finished with 630.0.

On the previous day, India's women's team also made headlines, with Elavenil Valarivan winning silver in the individual final and contributing to another silver in the team event alongside Sonam Uttam Maskar and Vidarsa Kochalumkal Vinod.
