Seva Sankalp Trophy Unveiled in Varanasi

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 8: In celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, the 'Seva Sankalp Trophy' was launched for the T-20 National Disabled Cricket Tournament at Hotel Taj on Thursday.


The trophy was unveiled by Nitin Nabin, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Pankaj Chaudhary, the BJP State President and Union Minister of State for Finance, attending as a special guest.


During his address, Nitin Nabin emphasized that disability is a mental barrier rather than a physical one. He stated, 'Individuals with disabilities are just as capable as anyone else. Given the right opportunities and platforms, they can excel both nationally and internationally through their skills.'


Nabin highlighted the ongoing efforts by both central and state governments to integrate individuals with disabilities into society and enhance their development. He mentioned, 'We aim to boost the involvement of disabled athletes in sports, providing them with improved opportunities. Sports serve not only as a competitive arena but also as a means to foster self-confidence, discipline, and resilience. Disabled athletes are setting remarkable examples through their dedication and talent. Events like these will not only celebrate their abilities but also encourage a more positive and inclusive mindset in society.'


Siddharth Singh, the chairman of the organizing committee, shared that the goal of this national event in Varanasi is to uplift the spirits of disabled athletes, instill hope and confidence, and promote the message of an inclusive India through sports. He noted that cricket teams representing various states will participate in the tournament, which will also convey a new message to Varanasi.


Uttam Ojha, President of the All India Disabled Cricket Association, provided Nitin Nabin with an overview of the event's preparations and objectives. He mentioned that the tournament will serve as a significant platform for disabled players to demonstrate their cricketing skills and gain national recognition.


The event was moderated by Sanjay Chaurasia, General Secretary of the All India Disabled Cricket Association, who expressed gratitude to Nitin Nabin, stating that such events energize the players and affirm that disabled individuals are supported.


Convener Virbhadra Singh thanked all guests and participants, with notable figures like Akhilesh Yadav and Roshan Dwivedi also in attendance.
