Tom Boon made a significant impact for the Ranchi Royals, scoring twice in the first half (11', 17'). However, the Toofans rallied back with goals from Amandeep Lakra (42'), Nic Woods (45'), and Talwinder Singh (57'), turning the match in their favor, as reported by Hockey India.

The match commenced with the Toofans asserting their dominance early on, controlling possession and setting the pace.
