Historic Victory for Indian Golfers at APGC Junior Championship 2026
Indian Duo Makes History in Sri Lanka
Krish Chawla from Chandigarh and Harjai Milkha Singh, the son of the legendary golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, have made headlines by clinching the Boys Team title at the APGC Junior Championship 2026 held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club in Sri Lanka. This remarkable achievement marks the first time an Indian team has won the esteemed Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation title.
Facing off against competitors from 17 different nations, the Indian pair finished with an impressive score of 9-under par, narrowly defeating teams from South Korea and Thailand, who both finished at 8-under, by just one stroke. The championship was decided in a thrilling moment when Krish, a former top junior golfer in India, sank a crucial 10-foot birdie putt on the last hole. His efforts are backed by Roundglass Academy.
Both golfers, who share a close friendship and are students at Strawberry Fields High School in Sector 26, Chandigarh, receive coaching from the esteemed Jesse Grewal. Their victory not only signifies a major achievement for Indian golf but also enhances Chandigarh's status as a prominent hub for the sport.
In the individual standings, Harjai secured the runner-up position with a score of 7-under par, while Krish finished tied for sixth at 2-under.
