Historic Performance by Indian Batters in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025
India Sets New Record in Test Series Against England
In a remarkable achievement during the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 held at Old Trafford, Manchester, India made history as four of its batters—Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja—collectively surpassed 400 runs in a single Test series for the first time.
Throughout the series, Gill has amassed an impressive 722 runs across eight innings, boasting an average of 90.25. Meanwhile, Rahul has contributed 511 runs over four matches.
Vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batter Pant has also shone, scoring 479 runs in seven innings with an average of 68.43. Jadeja, who played a pivotal role with an unbeaten century in the second innings of the Manchester Test, has tallied 454 runs in the series.
As the series stands, these four players lead the run charts for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
In the match itself, India managed to secure a draw thanks to stellar centuries from Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar in the second innings. They batted for over five sessions, finishing Day 5 at 425/4, with Jadeja on 107* and Sundar at 101*, forming a crucial partnership of 203 runs for the fifth wicket.
Ben Stokes earned the Player of the Match title for his outstanding five-wicket haul and a century in the first innings, marking his second consecutive POTM award in this series.
Notably, England failed to take any wickets in the final two sessions after dismissing Indian captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul early in the first session.
This draw marks a significant moment for India, as it is the first time in 35 years that they have managed to draw a Test match at Old Trafford, with the last occurrence dating back to 1990.
