Historic All-Female Match Officials Panel for 2026 Women's T20 World Cup
Introduction to the All-Female Panel
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed that the upcoming 2026 Women's T20 World Cup, scheduled in England from June 12 to July 5, will feature an all-female panel of match officials. This initiative ensures that every umpire and match referee participating in the tournament will be women. This decision marks the fourth consecutive Women's ICC senior tournament to be officiated entirely by women. The inaugural all-female officiating panel was seen during the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa, followed by the 2024 edition in Bangladesh. Additionally, the 2025 Women's World Cup in India was the first major event to have only female umpires and match referees officiating. “The selection of this panel for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 underscores the ICC’s dedication to enhancing representation across all areas of the sport. The ICC evaluates its officials based on a thorough, evidence-driven approach to their performance and decision-making. “We are thrilled to witness the advancements made by these officials and the high standards of officiating they exhibited during the ICC CWC 2025. As we gear up for what promises to be the largest women’s sporting event globally, this selection will elevate the significance of this athletic showcase,” stated ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta.
