High Commissioner Hosts Indian Cricket Team Ahead of Second Test in Colombo

On August 21, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, welcomed the Indian men's cricket team at the India House in Colombo, just before their second Test match against Sri Lanka scheduled for Thursday. The High Commissioner also extended his hospitality to the Sri Lankan team ahead of the game.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared on X that the gathering was a 'memorable evening.'
In their post, the BCCI stated, 'A memorable evening in Colombo! H.E. Mr. Santosh Jha – High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka – hosted #TeamIndia at the India House in Colombo ahead of the second Test against Sri Lanka.'

High Commissioner Jha expressed his delight in hosting both teams, emphasizing that their mutual love for cricket plays a significant role in enhancing the long-standing relationship between India and Sri Lanka.

Looking Ahead to the Second Test
As Team India prepares for the second Test, they hold a 1-0 lead in the series and aim to secure a 2-0 victory. The team, led by Shubman Gill, achieved a remarkable win in the first Test held at Galle.
In that match, India triumphed over Sri Lanka by 165 runs, with standout performances from Manav Suthar, who took a remarkable 10 wickets, and Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 167 runs in the first innings.
The final Test match against Sri Lanka is set to take place on August 23 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
