London [UK], July 12: England's Heather Knight has declared her retirement from international cricket, set to take effect after the One-Off Test against India at Lord's.
Having debuted for England in 2010, Knight concludes her remarkable career as the most-capped player for England Women, having participated in 320 matches.
Before her last Test, she had accumulated 7,988 runs on the international stage, including six centuries. Notably, her first T20I century in Canberra in 2020 made her the first England player to score centuries across all three formats.

Expressing her gratitude, Knight stated, "I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced this journey as an England cricketer. Leaving is tough because the dressing room and its members have been a constant in my life for 16 years. The memories and experiences have shaped who I am today, but I am content with my decision and excited for what lies ahead," as reported by ECB.
She continued, "I’ve had the privilege of playing alongside remarkable cricketers and individuals who have inspired and supported me throughout my career. A heartfelt thank you to my teammates, coaches, and support staff. I must also acknowledge the medical team; I’m unsure how my body has endured over 300 games of cricket, and I owe them a lot for their hard work and dedication."
One of the best to ever do it.

"We’ve shared unforgettable moments with fans over the years, and I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported women's cricket. Witnessing the growth of this sport has been the greatest honor of my life. I also want to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support through all the highs and lows," Knight remarked.
Reflecting on her journey, she added, "As a young girl from Devon playing with boys, I never imagined I would experience this. It feels fitting to conclude my career with this historic Test at Lord's. It’s been an incredible 16 years, and I feel truly fortunate."
