New Delhi, December 22: Indian pacer Harshit Rana marked his 24th birthday on Monday, receiving warm wishes from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) via their social media platforms.
In their post on X, the BCCI expressed, "Wishing Team India speedster Harshit Rana a very happy birthday, future winner of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and 2025 Asia Cup!"
Rana, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has represented India in two Test matches, 11 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and six T20 Internationals (T20Is). Although he has taken only four wickets in three Test innings with an average of 50.75, his performances in ODIs and T20Is have been notably better.
In T20Is, he has secured seven wickets across five innings, averaging 24.71. In ODIs, he has achieved 20 wickets in 11 innings with an impressive average of 25.55.
During the recent five-match T20I series against South Africa, Rana participated in one match, where he took two wickets in four overs, conceding 24 runs and maintaining an average of 17.
Looking at his domestic cricket statistics, Rana has claimed 50 wickets in 14 first-class matches. In List A cricket, he has taken 52 wickets in 30 matches, boasting an economy rate of less than six runs per over, and in T20s, he has captured 50 wickets in 41 innings.
Rana made his IPL debut in the 2022 season with Kolkata Knight Riders and has been a consistent performer for the team since then. In 34 IPL matches, he has taken 40 wickets at an average of 25.72, maintaining a steady economy rate.
Additionally, Rana has demonstrated his batting skills, with his highest T20I score being 35 against Australia during the second match of their three-game series in October-November.
