England's Captain Prepares for High-Stakes Clash

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 4: Harry Brook, the captain of the England cricket team, has dismissed the notion that his team is invincible. However, he acknowledged that their recent victories have significantly boosted their confidence, particularly in challenging scenarios.

On Thursday, India will take on England, the two-time champions, in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup at the renowned Wankhede Stadium.

As he approaches this crucial match, Brook expressed his enthusiasm, stating that for many players, participating in a World Cup semi-final against India is a dream realized.

“We are definitely not unbeatable, but our recent wins have instilled a lot of confidence in us for tomorrow's match. Winning tight games is crucial in World Cups, and we feel confident as we navigate the later stages of the game. We have managed to win matches that we perhaps should not have, and it feels like we have always been in contention, which is vital in such prestigious tournaments,” Brook shared with the media.

He further remarked, “This is undoubtedly a significant moment. For many of us, playing in a World Cup semi-final against the host nation at such an iconic venue is a dream come true. We are all eagerly anticipating it.”

England's journey to the semi-finals has been marked by their resilience. They have often fought back from tough positions to secure wins, including thrilling finishes against Nepal and Pakistan, and demonstrated composure during a tense chase against New Zealand, remaining unbeaten in the Super 8 stage.

This match marks the third consecutive time that England and India will compete for a place in the ICC T20 World Cup final, following their encounters in the 2022 and 2024 tournaments.

Despite the struggles of players like Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, Brook's team has displayed remarkable grit and determination throughout the tournament, securing several narrow victories.
