In earlier action, the Outer Delhi Warriors showcased a commanding all-round performance, securing a 39-run victory over the South Delhi Superstarz in a rain-shortened 10-over match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Batting first, the Warriors amassed an impressive total of 132/2 in their allotted overs, led by a remarkable unbeaten innings from Yajas Sharma, who scored 64 runs off just 29 balls, including five sixes and five fours.
The Warriors started strong, with Sharma and Priyansh Arya contributing 31 runs for the opening wicket in just 2.2 overs before Arya was dismissed for 10 runs off 8 balls. Akshay Saini maintained the momentum with a quick 20 runs off 10 balls, aggressively targeting the opposition bowlers.
Monu Shukla added a finishing flourish with an unbeaten 21 runs off 13 balls, ensuring the Warriors set a challenging target for their opponents.
In response, the South Delhi Superstarz faced a rocky start, quickly finding themselves at 5/2 as the Warriors' bowlers applied relentless pressure, reducing them to 16/4.
Tejasvi Dahiya and Ekansh Dobal tried to stabilize the innings with a 52-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Dahiya scored 18 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed by Akshay Saini.
Ekansh Dobal fought valiantly, scoring 35 runs off just 15 balls, hitting four sixes and two fours, but once he was out, the Superstarz's chase faltered.
The Warriors ultimately bowled out the Superstarz for 93 runs, clinching a comfortable 39-run victory. Navdeep Saini was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for just 9 runs in his two overs, while the rest of the bowling unit provided solid support to secure the win.
