Training Camp for Emerging Off-Spinners

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], March 26: A specialized training camp for budding off-spinners took place at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, led by the renowned Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh on Thursday.


The purpose of this camp was to refine the abilities of young off-spinners as part of a high-performance monitoring initiative, emphasizing technical skills, mental resilience, and physical fitness.


According to a post by the BCCI on X, "One of India’s legendary spinners, Mr. Harbhajan Singh, collaborated with the off-spinners from the High Performance monitoring group and the Emerging Off Spinners at the BCCI Centre of Excellence."


"The sessions provided valuable insights into technical knowledge and tactical strategies, allowing participants to learn from the legend himself through simulated scenarios and conditions," the post elaborated.



Harbhajan Singh has an impressive record, having played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is for India, with 294 wickets in limited-overs formats. His last Test match was against Sri Lanka in 2015, and he also played his final ODI against South Africa that same year.


His last appearance for India was in a T20I against the UAE during the 2016 Asia Cup. Harbhajan concluded his career with 417 wickets in 103 Tests, averaging 32.46. He is a two-time World Cup champion, having won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011, and is recognized as the first Indian to achieve a Test hat-trick.
