Safety Incident for Gujarat Titans

In a concerning incident, the Gujarat Titans' players and support staff were forced to evacuate their team bus due to a short circuit that caused the vehicle to malfunction while transporting them back to their hotel after their defeat in the IPL final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Sources indicate that all team members are safe and unharmed, despite smoke filling the bus. They had to wait briefly on the roadside until another bus was dispatched to continue their journey to the hotel.

This incident compounded an already disappointing evening for the Titans, who lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets in the IPL final on Sunday.

The team's travel schedule has been particularly challenging, having journeyed from Dharamsala to Mullanpur on May 27 for Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals on May 29.

Their planned departure to Ahmedabad on May 30 faced significant delays due to adverse weather conditions in Mullanpur, resulting in the team arriving home late on Saturday night.

Was fatigue a contributing factor to the Titans' lackluster performance against RCB in the IPL final? Vikram Solanki, the Director of Cricket for GT, addressed this in the post-match press conference, stating, 'I don’t want to diminish RCB’s victory by attributing our loss solely to fatigue from a packed schedule.'

'While we acknowledge that our total of 155/8 was subpar, the team displayed commendable effort in attempting to defend it. We will evaluate our strategies moving forward, but it’s important to recognize that the opposing team also performed well,' he concluded.
