On November 8, Graeme Smith, the former captain of South Africa and current commissioner of the SA20 league, shared heartfelt Diwali greetings on social media.

The Diwali festivities commenced with Dhanteras on November 6, followed by Choti Diwali on November 7. The main celebration of Diwali and Lakshmi Puja is set for November 8, with Govardhan Puja on November 10 and Bhai Dooj on November 11.

In a post on the official SA20 Instagram account, Smith expressed, 'Wishing our cricket family a joyful Diwali. May the festival of lights bring happiness, success, and many wonderful moments to you and your loved ones.'

Excitement Builds for SA20 Season 5

The SA20 league recently kicked off its Season 5 campaign, generating excitement for this significant edition of South Africa's top T20 league, which will run from January 17 to February 21, 2027.

The festivities will begin at St George’s Park, where the three-time champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, will face off against the Pretoria Capitals in a rematch of last season's final on January 17 in Gqeberha.

This summer cricket festival will tour various cities, including Paarl, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg, featuring an action-packed opening week. After the first week, Mondays will be designated as rest days, while weekends will host double-header matches, providing fans with a full day of cricket and entertainment.

As part of the Season 5 launch, tickets are now available, starting at just $3 for frenzy tickets for all opening matches and select fixtures. Tickets for the playoffs and the final on February 21 can also be purchased. Fans can buy tickets online at www.SA20.co.za, with stadium ticket offices opening on November 15, 2026.
