England Secures Victory in Second T20I

Bristol [UK], May 31: A remarkable all-round performance by Freya Kemp propelled England to a 26-run victory over India in the second T20I, leveling the three-match series at 1-1.

After winning the toss, England chose to bat first. Despite a shaky start, where Nandani Sharma (1/36) and Shree Charani (3/25) restricted them to 84/3, Danni Wyatt Hodge (29 off 25 balls) and Amy Jones (28 off 22 balls) contributed valuable runs.

Freya Kemp's explosive finish, scoring 39 not out off just 13 balls, featuring three boundaries and two sixes, helped England post a total of 168/5 in their 20 overs.

In response, India began their chase with solid contributions from their top order. Smriti Mandhana (32 off 25 balls), Shafali Varma (22 off 14 balls), Yastika Bhatia (33 off 36 balls), and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (28 off 22 balls) kept the innings afloat at 111/4 in 15.3 overs.

However, England's bowlers, including Kemp (2/15), Charlie Dean (2/20), and Lauren Bell (2/33), dismantled India's middle order, leading to a collapse where they lost five wickets for just 30 runs, ultimately finishing at 142/9.

Freya Kemp's outstanding performance earned her the 'Player of the Match' title. The final T20I is set to take place in Taunton on Tuesday.
