ICC Player of the Month Nominees for February

New Delhi, March 16: The nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February have been revealed, featuring Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, England's Will Jacks, and Shadley van Schalkwyk from the USA.


In the women's category, the shortlist includes Sri Lanka's Harshitha Samarawickrama, Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana, and India's Arundhati Reddy, as stated in a release from the ICC.


Sahibzada Farhan distinguished himself with a remarkable performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, while both Jacks and van Schalkwyk also made significant contributions.


All three players were recognized in the ICC Team of the Tournament, with van Schalkwyk being selected as the 12th player.


Sahibzada Farhan (Pakistan): The explosive opener scored a total of 383 runs at an impressive average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25 across seven T20Is during the tournament. He surpassed Virat Kohli's record for the most runs in a single ICC Men’s T20 World Cup edition and became the first player to hit two centuries in one tournament, achieving this against Namibia and Sri Lanka.


Will Jacks (England): Jacks excelled both with the bat and ball, accumulating 192 runs at a strike rate of 173.21 and taking 11 wickets with an economy rate of 8.04 in nine T20Is, helping his team reach the semifinals. He was awarded Player of the Match four times.


Shadley van Schalkwyk (USA): Van Schalkwyk emerged as a key player, securing 13 wickets at an economy rate of 6.80 over four matches in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. He led the group stage in wickets, taking four for 25 against both India and Pakistan, and followed up with three for 21 against the Netherlands.


In the women's category, Harshitha Samarawickrama played a crucial role in winning an ODI series against the West Indies with two half-centuries, while Fatima Sana showcased her all-round skills in both ODIs and T20Is. Arundhati Reddy was instrumental in India's T20I series victory in Australia.


Harshitha Samarawickrama (Sri Lanka): The left-handed batter scored 171 runs, averaging 57.00 with a strike rate of 60.85 in three ODIs, leading her team to a 2-1 series win over the West Indies. Her contributions included scores of 66, 35, and 70.


Fatima Sana (Pakistan): In two ODIs against South Africa, Fatima scored 57 runs at a strike rate of 126.66 and took two wickets. She was the top scorer in the T20Is against South Africa, with 90 runs in the first match and an unbeaten 47 in the third, along with two wickets.


Arundhati Reddy (India): Reddy led the wicket-taking charts as India clinched the T20I series in Australia 2-1. She recorded figures of four for 22, two for 30, and two for 35 across the three matches, finishing with an average of 10.87 and an economy rate of 7.25.
