As Smith attempted to stabilize Australia after a shaky start, he called for a halt in play. Frustrated by the delay, a fan humorously shouted, "Just hit the damn thing, Smudge! Stop being a princess. You are not bigger than the game, Steve, deal with it," as captured in a video shared by a Media Channel.

In the match, Bangladesh's bowlers dominated the Australian batting lineup, leaving them at 74/4 by the end of the first session.
