Fakhar Zaman Suspended for Two Matches

Fakhar Zaman, the opener for Pakistan, has been suspended for two matches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to a violation of the code of conduct related to altering the condition of the cricket ball.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed that the match referee deemed Fakhar guilty of a level three offense, specifically breaching Article 2.14 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during a PSL match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings on Sunday.

The incident of suspected ball tampering took place just before the final over, leading the on-field umpires to impose a five-run penalty on Lahore Qalandars and change the ball before the last over of Karachi Kings' innings.

The charge was brought forth by on-field umpires Shahid Saikat and Faisal Khan Aafreedi, along with TV Umpire Asif Yaqoob and fourth Umpire Tariq Rasheed.

Fakhar has denied the allegations and challenged the charge during a comprehensive disciplinary hearing as per the Code of Conduct.

The hearing was overseen by Match Referee Roshan Mahanama, who reviewed all evidence and allowed Fakhar a chance for a personal hearing.

Lahore Qalandars' captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, team director Sameen Rana, and team manager Farooq Anwar were also present during the proceedings.

The Lahore Qalandars are set to play against Multan Sultans on April 3 at Gaddafi Stadium, followed by a match against Islamabad United on April 9 at National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

In related news, Lahore Qalandars management has imposed a fine of one million rupees on captain Shaheen Shah Afridi for violating PSL security protocols at the team hotel in Lahore.

Additionally, the PCB's disciplinary committee has fined fast bowler Naseem Shah 20 million rupees for a controversial tweet that violated the terms of his central contract with the Board.
