The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has officially revealed the much-anticipated Season 4 of the T20 Mumbai League, alongside the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League, promising thrilling domestic competitions for cricket enthusiasts.

The unveiling of the trophies for both leagues took place at a glamorous event in Mumbai, featuring prominent figures such as Rohit Sharma, who is the league's ambassador, along with Mumbai star Sayali Satghare, MCA President Ajinkya Naik, former MCA President and Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar, and Rajdip Gupta, Chairman of the League Governing Council, along with other council members and team operators.

During the launch, Rohit Sharma expressed his enthusiasm for the development of cricket in Mumbai, stating, “I’m thrilled with the progress of Mumbai cricket—not just within the IPL but also through the T20 Mumbai League, which has provided a platform for many young talents. Numerous players from this league have advanced to IPL teams and the national squad. It’s a significant opportunity, and I’m glad we’re continuing this after last season’s success. I witnessed the challenges firsthand and commend the MCA team for their efforts. This year, we’re expanding with three women’s teams, making it even more exciting.”

Sayali Satghare emphasized the importance of the T20 Mumbai Women’s League, saying, “Mumbai is a city that thrives on cricket, and it’s heartening to see a dedicated platform for women. I appreciate the MCA for taking this crucial step to invest in the future of women’s cricket. This league will inspire many young girls to dream big, compete at high levels, and aspire to represent Mumbai and India.”

MCA President Ajinkya Naik remarked, “Mumbai’s cricketing heritage is built on a robust grassroots framework that motivates players to excel. The T20 Mumbai League embodies this philosophy by offering talented cricketers a professional stage to display their skills. The launch of the T20 Mumbai Women’s League marks a significant milestone for us, as women’s cricket is rapidly evolving, and it’s vital to create strong platforms for talented players to compete and grow.”

Former MCA President Ashish Shelar congratulated the MCA team for the successful launch, recalling the inception of the league in 2018, which aimed to provide young talent with a larger platform. He welcomed the franchise owners and assured support from the Government of Maharashtra to promote the league, highlighting the addition of women’s teams as a remarkable achievement.

Rajdip Gupta, Chairman of the League Governing Council, noted, “The T20 Mumbai League has consistently highlighted the city’s talent. With the introduction of the women’s competition, we are entering an exciting new chapter. Our goal is to run a professional tournament that not only showcases high-quality cricket but also strengthens the pathway for emerging players.”

A panel discussion featuring Rohit Sharma and Sayali Satghare underscored the significance of the women’s league and Mumbai’s rich cricketing culture.

The inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League will feature three teams, managed by PRS Infraprojects LLP, Roadway Solution India Infra Ltd, and World Star Sporting Private Limited.

Season 4 of the men’s league will continue with eight franchises representing various city regions: Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs, ARCS Andheri, Bandra Blasters, Eagle Thane Strikers, Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals, North Mumbai Panthers, SoBo Mumbai Falcons, and Triumph Knights Mumbai North East.

Since its inception in 2018, the T20 Mumbai League has become one of India’s premier domestic T20 tournaments, offering a platform for emerging players.
