Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Season 2 Begins

The second season of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) officially kicked off on Thursday at the Noida Indoor Stadium, bringing thrilling action to fans. The inaugural match featured the JD Noida Ninjas facing off against the Kanpur Warriors, with the home team claiming victory, according to a UPKL announcement.

In a tightly contested match, the JD Noida Ninjas triumphed over the Kanpur Warriors with a score of 39-36. The Warriors showcased a commendable performance, earning 36 points through a mix of raid, tackle, and bonus points. However, the Ninjas managed to secure the win with a well-rounded effort, finishing with 39 points.

The atmosphere was electric, with numerous fans from both teams filling the venue and passionately supporting their players. After the match, Deepak Nagar, the owner of JD Noida Ninjas, praised his team for their successful start to the season.

The day's second match featured the Mirzapur Kings going up against the Lucknow Lions.

Sambhav Jain, the Founder and Director of SJ Uplift Kabaddi, mentioned that the league's start was initially set for December 24 but was postponed by a day due to pollution control directives from the Supreme Court and the Sports Directorate.

This season of UPKL includes 12 teams, each set to compete in 11 matches using a round-robin format. A total of 69 matches will take place, including one exhibition match. Notable players such as Vinay Tewatia, Arjun Deshwal, Mohammad Aman, Abhimanyu, and RP Singh are among the participants.

Fans can purchase tickets for entry, priced at 299 for general admission and 399 for VIP seating, allowing them to experience high-quality kabaddi action live.
