Asian Games Cricket Tournament Schedule Revealed

The schedule for the cricket events at the Asian Games has been officially announced, with matches slated to occur from September 17 to October 3, as reported by a leading sports website.

Japan will host the Asian Games from September 19 to October 4, with some competitions commencing nine days prior to the opening ceremony, according to the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC).

Fans can look forward to thrilling T20 matches, featuring both men's and women's teams. The games will take place at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi Prefecture.

The women's cricket tournament kicks off on September 17, with medal matches beginning on September 22. Eight teams will compete, with India entering as the defending champions. The format will be a knockout style starting from the quarterfinals.

India also holds the men's title, with their competition starting on September 24 and concluding with medal matches on October 3. This event will see 10 teams participating, with preliminary matches leading up to the quarterfinals.

If the men's tournament mirrors the format used in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the top four seeded teams will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while six teams will compete in preliminary rounds to secure the remaining spots.

Each matchday will feature double-header games, with morning matches commencing at 9 AM local time (5:30 AM IST) and afternoon matches starting at 2 PM in Japan (10:30 AM IST).
