James Coles, an uncapped all-rounder, has earned his first ODI selection after being part of England's T20I squad earlier. Fast bowler Josh Tongue, who is also set to make his ODI debut, has been included following his impressive performances in Test cricket, particularly during the Ashes in late 2025, as noted by the ICC.

The pace attack sees the return of Gus Atkinson and Saqib Mahmood. Harry Brook will lead the team, which includes experienced players like Jos Buttler, Joe Root, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, and Sam Curran.

England enters this series after a 2-1 ODI victory over Sri Lanka in January, bouncing back strongly after losing the first match.

Notable absentees from the squad include Zak Crawley, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton, and Luke Wood.

The series kicks off at Edgbaston on July 14, followed by the second ODI in Cardiff on July 16, and the final match at Lord's on July 19.
