England Announces ODI Squad for Series Against India
England's ODI Team Set for Upcoming Series
The England and Wales Cricket Board has revealed its squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the Indian team, which will be captained by Shubman Gill. Notably, Sussex all-rounder James Coles has received his first ODI call-up as part of the 16-member squad. The team also includes fast bowlers Josh Tongue, who is yet to make his ODI debut, and Jofra Archer, who last participated in this format in November of the previous year. Additionally, pacers Gus Atkinson and Saqib Mahmood are returning after missing the Sri Lanka tour earlier this year. Harry Brook will take charge as the captain of the ODI side.
England's selection sees four changes from the 15-man squad that visited Sri Lanka in January and February. Jofra Archer, Atkinson, Mahmood, and Coles replace Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Jamie Overton, and Luke Wood. The core of the team remains intact as England prepares for next year's World Cup in South Africa.
The ODI series against India is set to commence on July 14 at Edgbaston, followed by the second match in Cardiff on July 16, and concluding at Lord's on July 19.
