Successful Trials for Dream League of India in Lucknow
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 29: The Dream League of India (DLI), recognized as the largest Tennis Ball Cricket League in the country, wrapped up its trials in Lucknow on November 27 and 28, drawing more than 500 participants from both junior and senior divisions.
Held at the Yorker Cricket Club in Sector-6, Pili Colony, near Yash Raj Institute, the trials saw enthusiastic participation from aspiring cricketers throughout Uttar Pradesh, according to a statement from DLI.
The trials revealed a notable emphasis on bowling in the region, with approximately 60% of the participants being bowlers, while the remaining 40% were batters. Both groups exhibited impressive skills, showcasing exceptional talent.
Players from the Junior (ages 13-18) and Senior (ages 18+) categories demonstrated their skills, determination, and competitive spirit, all vying for a place on one of the six DLI teams.
Commenting on the Lucknow trials, Chetanya Nanda, a former cricketer and the Founder of Dream League of India, stated, “Lucknow has displayed remarkable enthusiasm for cricket. The energy, discipline, and eagerness to excel were evident from the outset. Uttar Pradesh remains a hub of cricketing talent, and we are thrilled to introduce DLI’s platform here. I encourage major companies to support these grassroots players.”
Rishabh Bhatia, Founder of Servotech Sports, expressed his excitement about the turnout, saying, “The passion of the youth and the backing from senior players created an electrifying atmosphere during the trials.”
Dream League of India stands as the premier tennis ball cricket tournament in the nation, featuring six competitive teams across both junior and senior categories.
League Commissioner and actor Sonu Sood commended the participants' spirit and urged young players to seize the opportunities available at the grassroots level.
Notable figures like Saleem Merchant and Darshan Kumar are also involved with the initiative, enhancing DLI’s reputation as a credible platform for aspiring tennis ball cricketers in India.
Following successful trials in cities such as Delhi, Gurugram, Greater Noida, Ganaur, Mohali, and now Lucknow, the Dream League of India is expanding its reach nationwide, providing young cricketers with a significant platform to display their talent.
