Dilip Gavit's Meeting with Raj Thackeray Delayed Despite Commonwealth Gold
Dilip Gavit's Anticipated Meeting with MNS Chief
Dilip Gavit, a para-athlete and gold medalist from the Commonwealth Games, faced disappointment when he was unable to meet MNS leader Raj Thackeray after waiting for almost two hours, according to his coach.
Gavit, who triumphed in the men's 100m T47 final at the recent Glasgow Commonwealth Games, had received an invitation to meet Thackeray during his visit to Nashik on Thursday, as reported by his coach, Vaijanath Kale.
A video captured MNS supporters attempting to reassure Kale, urging him to remain patient.
Kale was heard stating, 'We have been waiting for a while... Sir (Thackeray) is currently occupied. We will connect with him later.'
There was no immediate response from the MNS regarding the situation.
India made a remarkable achievement in para athletics at the Commonwealth Games, achieving a historic one-two finish in the men's 100m T47 final, with Gavit securing gold and Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath taking home the silver.
