Dhruv Jurel's Remarkable Performance

In a thrilling encounter during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel showcased his exceptional skills. His remarkable stumping of in-form KKR batsman Cameron Green drew admiration from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Jurel's quick reflexes were on full display as he executed the stumping during a crucial run chase, leaving the crowd in awe. Tendulkar took to social media to share an image of the stumping, calling it 'simply magnificent'. He remarked, "Only one stump in sight, on the move, and done in the blink of an eye! Simply magnificent Dhruv Jurel!"

The incident occurred while Ravi Bishnoi was bowling to Cameron Green, who attempted a big shot but struggled to connect with the ball. Despite the delivery being wide down the leg side, Jurel reacted swiftly, diving to his left to collect the ball and hitting the stumps while airborne. His accuracy was impressive, as he managed to strike the stumps without even looking at them.

As the ball hit the stumps, Green was well outside the crease, leaving him with little chance to return. The third umpire confirmed the decision after reviewing the replay, dismissing Green, who had scored 27 runs off just 13 balls. This wicket proved crucial, as KKR's innings faltered, dropping to 37/4 in just 4.3 overs, putting them under significant pressure. Jurel's stumping was a highlight of the match, earning him accolades from fans and cricket analysts alike.

Ravi Ashwin's Commendation

Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin also praised Jurel, tweeting, "Dhruv Ju-we-lllll What a stumping." Earlier in the match, Jurel was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy after scoring only five runs. Notably, he had scored an unbeaten 81 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru just days prior. Ultimately, Kolkata Knight Riders secured a 4-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals, marking their first win of the tournament.
