Dhruv Jurel Joins ODI Squad

On Sunday, Dhruv Jurel was called up to replace the injured Rishabh Pant in India's ODI lineup for the upcoming three-match series against New Zealand.

Jurel, who has been performing exceptionally well in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, has officially joined the team as the series kicks off today.

Rishabh Pant sustained a side strain while practicing in the nets on Saturday.

According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Pant experienced sudden discomfort in his right lateral abdominal region during a practice session at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.

He underwent MRI scans promptly, and after a thorough evaluation by the BCCI Medical Team in consultation with a specialist regarding his clinical and radiological results, he was diagnosed with an oblique muscle tear, leading to his exclusion from the ODI series.

The Men's Selection Committee has confirmed Dhruv Jurel as Pant's replacement, and he has now joined the squad.

Jurel will serve as the backup wicket-keeper for the ODI matches, entering the series with an impressive record of six scores over fifty in seven innings, which includes two centuries.

The revised ODI squad for India includes: Shubman Gill (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (Wicket-Keeper), Shreyas Iyer (Vice-Captain), Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd Siraj, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel (Wicket-Keeper).
