Devon Conway Makes History with Double Century and Century in Test Match
Historic Achievement by Devon Conway
Mount Maunganui [New Zealand], December 21: Devon Conway has etched his name in the record books as the first New Zealand cricketer to score both a double century and a century in a single Test match.
This remarkable feat occurred during the third and final Test against the West Indies on Sunday.
In his first innings, Conway delivered an impressive performance, scoring 227 runs off 367 deliveries, which included 31 boundaries, helping New Zealand declare at 575/8.
In the second innings, he continued his stellar form, reaching a quickfire century off 139 balls, hitting eight fours and three sixes at a strike rate nearing 72.
Conway becomes the tenth player globally to achieve the rare double of a double ton and a century within the same Test.
After facing challenges in recent years, Conway has had a phenomenal Test season, amassing 697 runs in five matches and nine innings, averaging 87.12 with a strike rate of 61.30, including three centuries and two fifties, with his highest score being 227.

The Windies responded with a solid 111-run opening partnership between John Campbell (45 off 67 balls, with seven fours) and Brandon King (63 off 104 balls, with 11 fours).
