Memorable Experience for Young Cricketers

In a recent event, Sunil Gupta, the CEO of Delhi Capitals, expressed that the DC School Cup 2025 final provided an unforgettable experience for students, allowing them to play at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium alongside their cricketing idols. He commended the outstanding performances displayed by both boys and girls during the tournament.


Gupta remarked, "The opportunity for these kids to play on this historic ground, which has seen some of the greatest players represent Delhi and India, has been remarkable. The joy on their faces and the impressive performances from many participants have truly made this event special for us."


Champions of the DC School Cup

Modern School Barakhamba Road emerged victorious in both the boys' and girls' categories of the Delhi Capitals School Cup. The girls' team triumphed over DPS RK Puram by a significant margin of 133 runs, while the boys' team defeated St Thomas School by 57 runs.


The tournament featured 16 schools competing in the boys' category and four in the girls' category over several weeks. This initiative by Delhi Capitals aimed to enhance the cricketing landscape in Delhi. The DC School Cup, a premier inter-school T20 tournament, celebrated the city's sporting spirit while scouting for emerging talent, with matches officiated by BCCI-qualified referees at prestigious venues like Arun Jaitley Stadium and GMR Ground.


Highlights from the Finals

In the girls' final, Modern School Barakhamba Road set a formidable target of 240 runs, thanks to stellar performances from opener Myra Rewal, who scored 83 off 53 balls, and captain Kashvi Kumar, who made an impressive 118 off 62. Despite a valiant effort from DPS RK Puram's Vaibhavi Dudeja, who scored 75 not out, they could only manage 107 runs.


For the boys, Modern School Barakhamba Road also excelled, scoring 215 runs with Tanmay Chaudhary leading the charge with 118 runs off 65 balls, supported by Varun Sharma's 76 off 41. St Thomas School was restricted to 158 runs, with Grihith Gumber taking 3 wickets for 43 runs.
