Dehradun Warriors Triumph Over Mussoorie Queens

In a thrilling finale of the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League 2026 held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, the Dehradun Warriors emerged victorious against the Mussoorie Queens, successfully defending their score of 115/9.

Neelam Bhardwaj was honored as the Player of the Match and also received the Player of the Tournament award for her exceptional all-round performance throughout the league, as reported by a local media outlet.

Set a target of 116 runs, the Mussoorie Queens fought valiantly but fell short, finishing their innings at 100/7 despite a late surge from Garima Vashisth and Dipika Chand. With 30 runs needed off 15 balls, the chase seemed feasible until Garima was dismissed in the 18th over, leaving the team needing 29 runs from the final 13 balls.

Mussoorie Queens captain Nandini Kashyap won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that initially paid off as her bowlers restricted the Warriors to a modest total.

The Warriors struggled early on, losing their captain Shweta Mohan Verma for a duck, followed by Karry, who managed just 15 runs. Neelam then anchored the innings with a resilient 48 runs off 46 balls, supported by Preeti Bhandari's quick 26 off 17 balls. However, the Warriors lost wickets at crucial moments, ending their innings at 115/9.

Pooja Raj was the standout bowler for Mussoorie, taking three wickets for 29 runs, while Nisha Mishra impressed with figures of 1/12 in her four overs.

Mussoorie Queens started their chase cautiously, reaching 30/0 after five overs, but soon faced a batting collapse, finding themselves at 43/4 after 10.3 overs. Despite a brief recovery led by Garima and Dipika, the mounting pressure proved too much, and they ultimately fell short of the target.

In the end, the Dehradun Warriors maintained their composure in the final overs, clinching the title in the Women’s UPL 2026.
