These situations arise, and it’s up to the individual to handle setbacks. Playing for India requires mental strength and resilience.”

Madan Lal also warned against reducing the discussion to mere outrage, noting that international cricket presents unique challenges. But persistence is key. He deserved selection based on his performance. I’ve seen him bowl, and he has a solid technique,” he added.
“Two years ago, there was significant praise for Umran Malik. Auqib Nabi is a talented bowler with good technique. Ultimately, it’s about mental fortitude and the ability to perform at the international level. There’s a stark difference between domestic and international cricket. Given his performance and the way he led J&K, I believe the selectors should have considered him,” the 75-year-old concluded.
