PSL 2026 Set to Kick Off Amid Controversies

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 is scheduled to commence on March 26 (Thursday). This league has faced numerous controversies, including player departures to the IPL and the tournament being held without spectators due to security concerns stemming from the Afghanistan-Pakistan conflict. Ahead of the tournament, a notable incident involved legendary Australian cricketer David Warner, who expressed his frustration over the unprofessional behavior of fellow players Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan.

During a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where Warner is set to captain the Karachi Kings, he was responding to a question when he noticed the other captains—Shaheen Afridi (Lahore Qalandars), Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans), Saud Shakeel (Quetta Gladiators), and Marnus Labuschagne (Hyderabad Kingsmen)—engaging in conversation beside him. Annoyed by the distraction, Warner remarked, "What's wrong, gentlemen? Sorry we’ve got some school kids here," effectively silencing them.
