Danni Wyatt-Hodge's Stellar Performance Shines

New Delhi, July 20: England's Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been honored as the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for June 2026, following her exceptional performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Wyatt-Hodge was instrumental in leading England to the finals, emerging as the top run-scorer with a remarkable total of 302 runs, showcasing her ability to deliver match-winning performances, according to the ICC.

This marks her second ICC Women’s Player of the Month award, having previously won it in November 2024, as she triumphed over notable contenders like Scotland's Kathryn Bryce and India's Sree Charani.

Expressing her joy, Wyatt-Hodge stated, “Winning the ICC Player of the Month award is a tremendous honor, especially for my performances during a World Cup held on home soil. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was a remarkable event, and playing in the final at Lord’s is a memory my teammates and I will treasure forever.”

Throughout June, Wyatt-Hodge amassed 287 runs across six matches, five of which were during the T20 World Cup, boasting an impressive average of 71.75 and a strike rate of 151.85.

Her standout moment came with an unbeaten 105 against Sri Lanka in the tournament's opening match, contributing to England's joint-highest score of 219 in the tournament.

She continued to shine with significant innings, including a 65 against the West Indies and an unbeaten 89 that eliminated the defending champions, New Zealand.

Wyatt-Hodge made history by becoming the highest run-scorer in a single edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, surpassing Beth Mooney’s previous record of 259 runs set in 2020.

Additionally, she is the first player to exceed the 300-run milestone in a single ICC Women’s T20 World Cup edition, concluding with a total of 302 runs.
