Cricketer Rinku Singh Engaged to SP MP Priya Saroj: A Celebration of Love

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 8: The engagement of Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Priya Saroj has brought joy to their families. Priya's uncle, Bhagwati Saroj, expressed his delight, stating, “Today marks a moment of immense pride and happiness... This wedding is a significant event for our community as it is the first international wedding we are celebrating.”
Priya's father, Tufani Saroj, who is also an SP MLA, shared his excitement, saying, “I am very happy.”
Notable attendees at the engagement included Samajwadi Party leaders Dimple Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, along with Rajeev Shukla, the vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a Congress MP. Shukla wished the couple well, saying, “May they enjoy a wonderful married life. They make a great pair and are both accomplished individuals... I believe this marriage will be very successful.”
Since the T20 World Cup, Rinku has established himself as a key player in the format, although he is still working towards securing a place in the ODI team. He has played two ODIs for India, showcasing impressive List-A statistics with 1,899 runs in 52 innings, averaging 48.69 and striking at 94.8. His record includes one century and 17 half-centuries. In T20Is, Rinku has participated in 30 matches, scoring 507 runs at an average of 46.09 and a strike rate of 165.14, with three half-centuries, yet to achieve his first T20I century since debuting against Ireland in 2023.
Rinku has been a standout performer for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having played 46 matches and accumulated 893 runs at a strike rate of 143.33, including four half-centuries.
