Chennai Super Kings Support Mukesh Choudhary After Mother's Passing
CSK Stands by Mukesh Choudhary
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have expressed their condolences to pacer Mukesh Choudhary following the death of his mother, Prem Devi, who succumbed to an illness after a year-long battle. She was receiving treatment at Tata Hospital and passed away on Tuesday. As reported by Dainik Jagran, Choudhary left the CSK camp after the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to return to his hometown of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, where he performed the last rites alongside his elder brother, Dr. Rajesh Choudhary. CSK took to social media to share their support, stating, "The CSK family mourns the passing of Mukesh Choudhary’s mother. We stand with Mukesh and his family, keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time."

According to One India, MS Dhoni maintained communication with Mukesh during this challenging period and even visited his mother in the hospital. Mukesh has since rejoined the CSK squad at Wankhede Stadium for the upcoming match against the Mumbai Indians (MI).
Will MS Dhoni Play Against MI?
MS Dhoni has yet to participate in IPL 2026 due to a calf injury that sidelined him for the first two weeks of the tournament. However, he appears to have made a full recovery, as he was seen practicing wicketkeeping and hitting sixes at Wankhede Stadium in preparation for the match. Fans are eager for Dhoni's return, but reports from Revsportz suggest he may not play today. Instead, he is expected to return for CSK's next game against the Gujarat Titans on April 26.
A source close to the situation indicated that the decision regarding Dhoni's participation against MI rests solely with him. "The CSK management is waiting on Dhoni to tell them when he is finally ready," the source stated. "The decision is entirely his. Whether he feels prepared to play in Mumbai or prefers to wait until the 26th in Chennai against the Gujarat Titans is up to him. While he has been practicing at the nets, he has not yet communicated to the CSK management when he plans to return to the field."
