Chennai Super Kings Gear Up for IPL 2026 with Key Player Changes
CSK's New Season Begins
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to capture the attention of cricket enthusiasts as the 19th season of the Indian Premier League is set to commence on March 28, 2026. After a disappointing last season where they finished last, CSK has made notable adjustments to their roster in hopes of reclaiming their former glory. A significant addition to the team is Sanju Samson, who has joined from the Rajasthan Royals (RR), with Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran heading the other way. Samson recently shared insights about his conversation with franchise icon MS Dhoni. During a media session organized by CSK, he expressed excitement about the opportunity to learn from Dhoni, stating, "I have spoken to Mahi bhai (Dhoni) over the phone, and interacting with him has been great. Being on the same team will be an incredible chance to learn. I am eager to play for CSK and appreciate the love and support from the fans," said Samson.
Facing Former Team: Rajasthan Royals
CSK will kick off their IPL 2026 journey against the Rajasthan Royals on March 30, 2026, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This match holds special significance for Sanju Samson, as it marks his first encounter against his previous team. He remarked, "This will be my first match against Rajasthan Royals, but I don’t let emotions dictate my performance on the field. I departed from RR because I felt my time there had come to an end. Regardless of facing them now, I am committed to playing my best cricket."
