On social media platform X, the CBF showcased images from the training ground, expressing optimism as Brazil shifts its attention to this crucial stage of the tournament.
“We’re still on the path toward the next destination: ROUND OF 16!” the federation stated while sharing snapshots of the team diligently preparing for their upcoming match on Sunday.
The five-time world champions are set to face Norway on July 6 (IST), aiming for a spot in the quarterfinals as they pursue a record sixth FIFA World Cup title.
In other news, Brazilian football star Vinicius Jr had a notable encounter with legendary rapper Jay-Z ahead of the World Cup clash against Norway.
Vinicius, who is represented by Roc Nation Sports, a management firm founded by Jay-Z, shared a photo on his Instagram, highlighting a remarkable crossover of sports and pop culture during this tournament.
Against Scotland, Vinicius made history by becoming the first Brazilian in 24 years to score in each of his nation’s first three FIFA World Cup matches, a feat previously achieved by Ronaldo Nazario and Rivaldo in 2002, according to ESPN FC's X account.
Overall, he is now among only five Brazilian players to score in the first three World Cup matches, joining the ranks of Jairzinho (1970), Romario (1994), and Ronaldo and Rivaldo (2002).
Historically, Brazil has won the tournament each time they achieved this milestone. So far in the current tournament, Vinicius has netted four goals and provided an assist, positioning himself as a contender for the Golden Boot, alongside Argentina's Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, who each have six goals.
