Muzarabani's Suspension from PSL

Lahore, Pakistan - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a two-year suspension on Zimbabwean cricketer Blessing Muzarabani, effectively barring him from participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) until 2029. This decision follows Muzarabani's withdrawal from Islamabad United, despite having signed a contract, to join Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).

The PCB has accused Muzarabani of failing to uphold his commitments, which they claim undermines the integrity of the league. In an official statement, the PCB reiterated its dedication to maintaining high standards of professionalism and the importance of adhering to contractual obligations within the PSL.

The PSL emphasized that the league's integrity relies on the ethical conduct of all involved. They stated, "Professionalism in franchise leagues necessitates that participants act transparently and consistently. Engaging in conflicting agreements while bound by a prior contract deviates from the expected standards of the sport. Such behavior, if unaddressed, can damage the trust that franchises, regulators, and stakeholders have in professional dealings."

Muzarabani had been signed by the PSL shortly after the auction as a replacement for Shamar Joseph, with a contract valued at PKR 11 million (around US$40,000). However, he is not the only player to have switched allegiances; Sri Lanka's Dasun Shanaka also opted for the IPL after initially signing with Lahore Qalandars.

This season, Muzarabani has played two matches for KKR, achieving a four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad, but has not participated in a game since April 2.
